An Opportunity of a Lifetime

I've been given the opportunity of a lifetime. I was selected to participate in a nationwide weight loss contest with the restaurant Genghis Grill. I have agreed to eat healthy options at Genghis Grill everyday for 90 consecutive days for a possibility of becoming the next "Jared". Weight loss, social media posting, and public votes will determine the winner. #ggHealthKwest

Stormy, Gloomy Day

Today's afternoon meal courtesy of Genghis Grill was a chicken and Mahi Mahi bowl. I went heavy on the seasonings, cayenne and crushed red pepper, and light on each of the servings - snap peas, celery, broccoli, and jalapenos. I added garlic water as I do every day because of the health benefits I've read about. I pour one ladel over the vegetables and another in the sauce bowl, mixed with a little Khan Pao for a spicy kick. I had it mixed with steamed rice on the grill, and it came out fantastic. It's the first time I've had the rice mixed for me, and I think I'll be doing it again.

It's a gloomy day here in Nashville. The storms are rolling in, with chances of hail and tornadoes. A weak sun, plenty of rain, and strong winds. I ran to Genghis Grill in Murfreesboro during a break in the weather for lunch. This is only the second bowl I've taken to go from the restaurant. I won't have time to eat there tonight since I'll be attending a funeral for the grandfather of one of my best friends. It's a gloomy day here in Nashville for many reasons.
