An Opportunity of a Lifetime

I've been given the opportunity of a lifetime. I was selected to participate in a nationwide weight loss contest with the restaurant Genghis Grill. I have agreed to eat healthy options at Genghis Grill everyday for 90 consecutive days for a possibility of becoming the next "Jared". Weight loss, social media posting, and public votes will determine the winner. #ggHealthKwest

Change of Routine

My routine was mixed up today due to my work schedule. My actual office is located just over 30 miles from my home, about an hour drive. Fortunately, for the last few months I've been working at a secondary location, one of our companies that's only 12 miles from home - a quick 15 minute jaunt down the interstate.

This morning, I had to return to my normal office location. What's the big deal? My entire routine was thrown out! Waking up at the normal time, I utilized the gym at my office and their showers. Their facilities are very nice, but it's not my normal routine. Different machines than I'm accustomed to, yet I was able to build up a good sweat on the Precor elliptical.

Not only was my exercise routine thrown for a loop, so was my nutrition schedule. I ate at different times today than usual due to my workouts and scheduled meetings. However, I think all this change was a good thing. My energy levels were higher than normal today and I'm actually feeling thinner tonight than usual. Getting out of the routine I've used for so long was probably a good idea, though I was not happy about it. We'll see how the next two days go as I change my back to my routine tomorrow and mix it up again the next day.
