Okay - one month down. February 7th was my first official weigh-in and it's been a full month. I lost a lot of weight, but eventually hit a plateau. It seems as though I was starving myself, although I was always full and eating 6 times a day. I was only getting about 1,100-1,200 calories/day, and that isn't enough to feed my body the way I should. I'm mixing up my routine, changing my diet, educating myself and making smarter decisions.
The first few weeks, it was easy to lose weight. Now I have to put my head down and go harder. I'm changing my exercise routine from 6pm to 6am to get the heart pumping and calories burning before I ever start my day. I think this will have a huge impact on my weight loss. I still intend to do cardio at night, but the morning session will have a much larger effect on my body.
I still plan on eating 6x/day. I think it's important to keep fueling my body and letting it burn. However, I'm going to make it healthier. I'm cutting out the dairy (yogurt and eggs) that I was eating throughout the day, and I'm cutting down on all those sugars (even fruits) I've been putting into my body. I'm eating lean meat, such as chicken and turkey, and fast burning carbs throughout the day.
My goal is to lose 15 pounds in 15 days. That won't be easy, at all. I'm going to be pushing myself hard with morning and night cardio sessions, and a secret weapon at my house that will hopefully catapult me over this hurdle.
I actually sat down last night with one of the servers who is studying nutrition, and we discussed the healthy bowl options and how easy it would be to accomplish my goals while eating at Genghis Grill every day. All the ingredients are there for me to make my body look the way I want it to. All I have to do is continue to make healthy decisions on my bowls and stay focused.
